Welcome to Nanook Nation!
New Student Orientation — Fall 2026
If you're a new student taking in-person classes in the Fairbanks area, you're required to attend orientation. It's ÈÕº«ÎÞÂë's responsibility to set you up for success!
We've planned several days full of activities to help you connect with other ÈÕº«ÎÞÂë students, discover resources and learn to navigate your new ÈÕº«ÎÞÂë home.
Parent and Family Orientation
Are you a parent or family member of a new student looking for skills and resources to support your student in their transition to college life at ÈÕº«ÎÞÂë? ÈÕº«ÎÞÂë's two-day Parent and Family Orientation program is for you! You'll have an opportunity to meet with the faculty and staff who will support and educate your student inside and outside of the classroom, ask questions, and get to know the place where your student will spend their next couple of years!
Fees: Attending Parent and Family Orientation costs $30 for the first guest and $15 for each additional guest. This fee covers the cost of meals and materials!
CTC Orientation
If you're enrolled in a program at ÈÕº«ÎÞÂë's Community and Technical College, you're encouraged to also attend the CTC Orientation on Saturday, Aug. 22!
Summer Orientations — 2026
Ready for an Alaskan side quest? Each summer orientation event is two days of fun in the 24-hour sun, and an opportunity to get to know Fairbanks and some of your fellow future Nanooks. These optional orientation experiences are a great way to start your ÈÕº«ÎÞÂë adventure early.
Celebrate the midnight sun during the Fairbanks Summer Solstice.
Experience the Golden Heart of Alaska at Fairbanks’ Golden Days Festival.

New Student Orientation — Spring 2027
ÈÕº«ÎÞÂë offers New Student Orientation in both the fall and the spring!
More information on registering for spring orientation will be available closer to the spring semester.
Online Orientation
You're required to complete Online Orientation before you start classes at ÈÕº«ÎÞÂë. We’re so excited for you to join Nanook Nation, and getting your Online Orientation done as soon as you can will help set you up for success this year.
This orientation only takes about an hour — go at your own pace and take breaks if you need to. Become familiar with ÈÕº«ÎÞÂë, our campus and all the opportunities waiting for you here!
Live on Campus
ÈÕº«ÎÞÂë is invested in your success as a student. Experience and research conclusively shows that living on campus — especially during your first year in college — leads to academic success and greater connection to the campus community.
You are required to live on campus if you're an incoming first-year undergraduate student attending the Troth Yeddha' Campus in Fairbanks, enrolled in 9 credits or more, and under the age of 21. Exceptions are approved in some circumstances.
