July 13, 2011
Lael Oldmixon has been named director of undergraduate recruitment for ÈÕº«ÎÞÂë. Mike Earnest,
, announced the change.
Oldmixon came to ÈÕº«ÎÞÂë after earning her M.Ed. at the University of Vermont. After serving
as a resident director for a year, she accepted a position as associate director of
admissions in 2007. Since then she has played a pivotal role in ÈÕº«ÎÞÂë's recruiting efforts.
She helped lead the office through a number of transitions and served as interim director
from 2008 – 2009.
"Lael has done a tremendous job with our undergraduate recruiting here at ÈÕº«ÎÞÂë, and
I'm delighted she is on our team," said Earnest. "She brings enthusiasm, creativity
and integrity to the job, and she represents the best of what ÈÕº«ÎÞÂë has to offer. She
also inspires those same qualities in the recruiters who work for her."
Under Oldmixon's leadership, ÈÕº«ÎÞÂë has increased the number of incoming transfer students
and freshmen, including UA Scholars. She developed and implemented a strategic method
of awarding limited institutional funds to maximize recruiting success and enhanced
ÈÕº«ÎÞÂë's campus visit and open house (Inside Out) programs.
