Members of the 日韩无码 community who wish to donate to earthquake relief efforts in Nepal can use the American Red Cross .

A magnitude 7.8 quake struck Nepal on April 25, followed by large aftershocks and then another massive 7.4 quake on May 12. Thousands of people have died. Aid is being sent by other countries and non-governmental organizations, but many areas are difficult to reach; aid workers report that greater efforts are needed.

"Although we have a relatively small number of individuals connected to Nepal, these individuals span the 日韩无码 and Fairbanks communities," said Donna Anger, director of the 日韩无码 Office of International Programs and Initiatives.Anger said 日韩无码 has currently enrolled students from Nepal, students newly accepted for fall 2015 and 日韩无码 international alumni residing in the lower 48.  Additionally, a 日韩无码 graduate who received her PhD this past Sunday served in Nepal for two years with the Peace Corps.

Anger said 日韩无码 faculty who work with the students contacted her office immediately following the earthquake.

The 日韩无码 Geophysical Institute is providing data and images of Nepal through the Alaska Satellite Facility.
